Counselling

We provide easy to access counselling to your employees. Please contact us to discuss your organisation’s needs, from referring one employee, to providing a company-wide employee assistance programme.

Who is this service for?

Smaller organisations

For small and medium-sized businesses contracting with us is a cost-effective, ad hoc solution. We would be delighted to support your organisation’s request for counselling.

Larger organisations

Our counselling service could be easily integrated into your Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). If you still don’t have one, we could develop it for you.

What does this service offer?

Workplace counselling is a kind of "talking therapy" paid for by employers and offered to employees who are experiencing difficulties which are impacting work.

We can help your people find solutions that allow them to cope better. Employees accessing counselling return to work quicker, and are more resilient and loyal to their employer.

What could be addressed?

  • Communication problems
  • Emotional stability
  • Grief and loss
  • Low self-esteem
  • Performance issues
  • Poor job fit
  • Work relationships
  • Work-life balance

How does it work?

Workplace counselling is short-term (up to six one-hour sessions). It is goal oriented and geared towards problem-solving, for example, seeking to overcome an acute personal difficulty.

We use an integrative approach, which means that we see everyone as an individual and select the most appropriate techniques based on what will be most likely to help achieve the client’s desired outcome.

Counselling process

  • The initial intake is conducted to discuss what is troubling the employee. It allows us to determine the best course of treatment from the outset, while also helping the client feel the issues that they are struggling with are understood. Initial consultations take place over the phone or through a video conferencing platform and typically run anywhere from 15-30 minutes.

  • If the counseling session is to be confirmed, the employer must then confirm how many sessions they are willing to fund, or the employee can fund it themselves.

  • The ongoing work includes one-to-one sessions. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and take place at regular, planned times. Here a client can explore his\her situation in a calm and secure environment, share thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement, and develop new perspectives. The final session is agreed upon in advance. Workplace counselling is time-limited, meaning it will come to an end after a set number of sessions.

Lines of service

  • Our counselling service could be easily integrated into your Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). If you still don't have one, we could develop it for you. An EAP generally includes face-to-face, telephone or online counselling and expert support on both personal and work-related issues, with the aim of increasing staff wellbeing and productivity, as well as reducing absences.

  • Occasionally you may have the need to provide employees or team with access to our services on a temporary basis. We have some options available and would be delighted to discuss your requirements.

  • We can provide group workshops to educate your workforce, creating happier, healthier, more productive employees, or one-to-one assessments and individual treatment for those who need more specific intervention.

Service delivery

Currently we deliver all sessions remotely, over the phone or through video conferencing platform (Google Meet, Zoom). This way our service can be accessible to your employees from wherever they feel most comfortable.
